What is the best work boot for working on concrete?

For a dry shop floor, start with the shop's toe rule. Then compare the sole and what the maker lists under your foot: midsole, footbed and shank. No boot stops tired feet or every slip. Wet, fresh concrete is a different problem. It can burn skin, so it needs the protective gear your employer picks.

Do mechanics need steel toe boots?

The shop's hazard check and footwear rule decide if a safety toe is required. If more than one toe type is allowed, compare the safety marking and fit of the exact boot. Steel or composite alone does not decide which boot suits you.
